Twin Oaks holiday cottage in Ottery St Mary, East Devon sleeps 2-8 people in 5 bedrooms. Our creative rates mean that Twin Oaks is competitively priced for just two people and fairly priced for eight people.
Imagine driving the last few metres down the tarmac bridleway and arriving at Twin Oaks, a holiday home right on the edge of the small country town of Ottery St Mary overlooking rolling Devon countryside.
Head for the huge kitchen and enjoy a welcome mug of tea, or maybe a glass of wine. After settling in, it’s time for supper around the big table in the kitchen diner, an opportunity to relax and reconnect with your favourite people.
Having enjoyed a fun filled, candlelit supper, you relax in the large lounge around a delightful fire. Or, you could choose to play a game from our selection. Or what about enjoying a game or two of snooker?
After a well earned rest, in what uncle John from Australia describes as the most comfortable bed he has ever slept in in, you wake up and admire the view of a magnificent oak tree from your bed. Through the archway you see your children bouncing on the 14 foot trampoline (unless you left them behind, haven't got them or they're teenagers and are still asleep!) In the corner of the large lawn you see the fish pond and your little boy is fishing for tadpoles through the safety grille.
Over the fence are fields and cows and there really is a magnificent view across rolling countryside up to the trees on top of East Hill.
It's time for breakfast. Will it be a full English with rolls from the Crusty Cob baker? Or will it be fresh fruit on the deck or pancakes on the patio?
After breakfast, what now? Will you head for the gate, turn left and walk down the bridleway through the fields down to the river and on to the Golden Lion Pub in Tipton St John, complete with its open fire and French landlord. Yes, he does have a French accent and a reputation for outstanding food. Will you jump in the car and head to the beach in Sidmouth 6 miles away? Or will you treat your children to Crealy Adventure Park or go-karting maybe? Or will you wander around the small country town of Ottery St Mary and view the magnificent old church modelled on Exeter Cathedral, and then head for Otter Nurseries, a haven for garden lovers all over Devon.
After a great day out, what will you do this evening? Will it be a barbecue on the patio, your own creative dinner, a takeaway or a meal out? Ottery boasts a great fish and chip shop, Chinese and Indian takeaways and a Kebab shop. Our favourite for a pub meal is the Hare and Hounds or La Tratorria Italian restaurant in Newton Poppleford.
This is going to be a great holiday.

Yes, mostly. The house and drive are flat and have fairly easy access, with only two small steps up to the house. There is a twin bedroom and toilet/shower room downstairs, as well as the kitchen and lounge. The shower room is quite small and so we regret to say that it is not very wheelchair friendly.

We were very lucky to find such a wonderful place to stay & so ideal for exploring Devon & Dorset coast.
This was the 1st time we hired a cottage & it couldn't of felt better.
Look forward to visiting again in the future.

We had a lovely relaxing stay. Home was cosy and welcoming. We loved it! And our baby girl loved crawling around the whole of downstairs! Many thanks
